Moscow is one of the fastest-growing cities in Europe. While its rapid transit network has expanded significantly, surface public transport routes (trams and buses) have often remained largely unchanged since the 1980s. The aim of this project was to adapt the existing tram network to the demands of the 21st century and to propose new services for recently constructed and planned tram lines.
As a result of the proposed changes, system efficiency and ridership increased by up to 15%, while passenger satisfaction rose from 70% to 85%.

My role
-
• Analysis of existing tram routes, passenger volumes, and travel patterns
• Forecasting passenger demand following the opening of new metro stations and tram lines
• Development of route restructuring proposals and service level recommendations based on demand forecasts
